Coloquio de Matemáticas Aplicadas
Advances in nanostructuring technology have made it possible to create materials with parameters far superior to anything available in the past. Moreover, structured materials have been created with properties that have not previously been observed in nature. The appearance of such materials has significantly expanded both the manifestation of nonlinear optical phenomena and the potential of their applications. The presentation will consider both modifications of known phenomena of nonlinear optics and fundamentally new phenomena inherent in novel materials. In particular, the currently popular topic of moderate-intensity nonlinear optics in zero-epsilon materials will be discussed.
